Privacy policy

Overview
This privacy policy explains what the Pore Clogging Checker collects when you use it. The short version: the tool is built so that your ingredient lists never leave your browser.
What stays on your device
The ingredient lists you paste are analyzed entirely in your browser with JavaScript. They are never transmitted to or stored on our servers.
A few things are saved locally in your browser for convenience: your current input draft, your theme preference, and your language choice. These never leave your device and you can remove them any time by clearing your browser storage.
Photos and image recognition
When you take a photo, upload an image or paste a screenshot to recognize an ingredient list, the image is sent to our server and forwarded to third-party vision-model providers for text recognition. Images are processed in memory and are not stored by those providers.
To improve recognition quality, a copy of the photo may be kept in our own storage, linked only to an anonymous scan id - never to your identity. Retained photos are used only for internal quality analysis and are deleted on request (hello@porecloggingchecker.app).
Analytics
We use privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics to understand how the site is used: page views and coarse events such as how many ingredients an analysis contained. These events contain no personal identifiers; photo-scan events may attach a truncated copy of the recognized text for internal quality analysis.
We also use Microsoft Clarity to see aggregated, anonymized interaction patterns. Clarity does not collect names, emails or payment information. You can opt out of analytics in your browser via Do Not Track settings or an ad blocker.
Advertising
The site shows ads served by Google AdSense on some pages (blog and product pages - never inside the ingredient checker). Google and its partners may use cookies or device identifiers to serve and measure those ads, including personalized ads where consent allows. You can turn off ad personalization in Google's Ads Settings and read how Google uses advertising data at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
What we never do
We do not ask for accounts, we do not ask for your email, and we do not sell data.
Third-party links
The site links to third-party pages (for example our support page). Those pages have their own privacy policies, which we do not control.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes materially, we will update this page with a new revision date. Questions? Write to hello@porecloggingchecker.app.
